In 2007 I ran my first marathon in Las Vegas, NV. For some stupid reason I wanted to attempt to run a marathon in all 50 states. I have done 20 so far, and here's a super quick recap:
1) Las Vegas, NV - cold, hella Elvises (Elvi?)
2) Sacramento, CA - cold, all downhill
3) Seattle, WA - hilly, Seahawks are stupid
4) Cocoa Beach, FL - along the water, space themed
5) Nashville, TN - surprisingly hilly and HOT
6) San Antonio, TX - also hot
7) Tulsa, OK - cold and only a week after #6
8) Cleveland, OH - Bone Thugs are from Cleveland
9) Anchorage, AK - PR by about 30 seconds
10) Richmond, VA - Ate foie gras to celebrate #10
11) Baton Rouge, LA - 49ers win NFC championship game
12) Atlanta, GA - super hilly
13) Duluth, MN - running through a wall of fog
14) Bend, OR - PR for worst time ever
15) Cape May, NJ - Rainy
16) Wausau, WI - Running in a sauna
17) Dearborn, MI - Martian themed
18) Chicago, IL - Crowded and my favorite marathon
19) Buffalo, NY - hot but awesome course support
20) Huntsville, AL - more on this later
I will have a more detailed write up on Huntsville later. On the map below, the yellow states are the ones I've done. Those flyover states aren't really getting any love. Sad day.
